Ishopan engg offers flow-smoothening devices. All fluid transfer systems with any type of pump experience fluctuations in discharge volume and pressures accompanied with vibrations, noise, shock, surge and pulses to varying degree which apart from loss of energy may cause irreparable damages to the system or the plant as a whole. Accumulators or pulsation dampeners widely used in india for limiting flow or pressure variations within 1 to 3% range; actually offer no solution because standard accumulators or dampers are quasi a storage point to compensate for fluid-mass flow variations which travel with only a few metres per second speed, whereas waves from impacts, shocks, implosions and/or cavitations travel at speed of sound which is 100s or 1,000-times faster than the fluid/mass flow velocities. As a result disturbance waves reach and leave common accumulator/ dampener; n-times before fluid flow variation reaches it. So rather than any flow smoothening, standard devices do nothing more than compensate fluid-flow-variations leaving all the above disturbances, unattended. General process control and instrumentation used in the system are not sensitive enough to bring out the havoc.
